Things were rather crazy last week after posting my Resume on Monster, I was inundated with calls from various Technical placement agencies. Needless to say I was not expecting my phone to ring off the hook. I believe at the moment I've met with something like six of these agencies and doesn't count the two or three from Pittsburgh that I turned down. I even had one call me from San Diego, very odd.
I've passed up on one job and been interviewed for three others;
one of which,insurance company that I'd accept if they offered me the
job. In addition I have phone screening this afternoon and another
interview on Monday. Then there was the guy I was supposed to meet
yesterday, but then it fell through.... And I've been contacted by
Frank and Dave separately with offers of some possible contract work.
This is year has certainly been interesting.
I suppose I should try to find a point to this post, but maybe the
point is just to rant a bit. It's not as if my blog has any innate
rationality as it is. The contract ideas from my former coworkers sound
interesting, since the extra money could definitely be helpful. I
wonder if I could just work on Franks stuff until I find a more
permanent job. On the other hand, if I do get a permanent job do I
really want to spend so much more time working? Any of the jobs that
I've run across lately will more than cover my expenses... and what to
do aboutmy blog if I'm working all the time? I still haven't properly improved
it so that it's no longer ugly.
